Leaving Ohio

Great time in columbus. Fantastic meal with colleagues last night. Lots of Ice cream from Jenni’s and fantastic sweet corn you can’t get sweet corn like you do in Ohio back home. I’m sure I have put on a few pounds in Ohio. The chocolate cake is superb.

It’s onto Cincinnati and then onto Portland this evening.

Bye for now Columbus. Hope to be back soon. Maybe for a little longer next time.

Columbus-3 days

It’s been a really hectic few days in Ohio. Saturday started off with a good 5K in downtown Columbus. I ended up coming in second place in 16:03. Running over here is more difficult so I was happy with the race on a 3 loop course.

Straight after the race I hit the open road and headed to Dayton Ohio to see the US air force museum. Dayton has a massive air force base and has been central to the US air force for many years. Dating back to the wright brothers over 100 years ago.

Following 3 hours in the museum I headed to a local mall for a potbelly lunch and then a trip to see downtown Dayton. Not much to see in Dayton so I headed back and went to Max and Erma for the biggest piece or slab of chocolate cake I have ever seen. Delicious but at least 1500 calories in every slice. I also did a bit of shopping in Dayton.

Sunday I had a great morning with some mountain biking and running over a local reservoir. I followed that up with a walk around the OSU campus. A good bit of exercise for one day but a lot of sugar eaten over the weekend.

Nice dinner in Easton mall yesterday with the guys, followed by a few drinks.
