Photo a Day

People will often say that their whole lives flashed before their eyes after they experienced a traumatic event. Perhaps it’s a bit morbid, but we think that sounds pretty incredible. Taking a photo a day is a big undertaking with big payoffs. Here are just a few reasons why I started this week.. First photos to follow.

  • Wednesday was my 29th birthday. Cant find a better day to start.
  • Imagine being able to look back at any day of your year and recall what you did, who you met, what you learned… (Often we find it hard to remember what we did just yesterday or even last night, let alone a whole year ago!)
  • Your year-long photo album will be an amazing way to document your travels and accomplishments, your haircuts and relationships. Time moves surprisingly fast.
  • Taking a photo a day will make you a better photographer. Using your camera every day will help you learn its limits. You will get better at composing your shots, you’ll start to care about lighting, and you’ll become more creative with your photography when you’re forced to come up with something new every single day.

Empowered a great new read

Forrester analysts Josh Bernoff and Ted Schadler‘s new book Empowered: Unleash Your Employees, Energize Your Customers, and Transform Your Business. This book is a follow-up to Bernoff’s and Charlene Li‘s 2008 Groundswell: Winning in a World Transformed by Social Technologies. That book is one of my all time favorites, amust read for anyone getting to grips with Web 2.0

Empowered takes a look at several trends including Shadow IT, innovation managment and microblogging. There is a great interview with the author over on read write web.

I just ordered my copy.

Mixed week asks some tough questions.

Been a busy week. I’ve had very tight hamstrings on both legs for a few weeks now. NO amount of stretching is working. On top of that this week my glutes have been especially bad again. It’s been a mixed bag of a week. I only got 40 miles in. I had planned to do 50 but it’s been painful at times. Is everyone like this? I took a day off on Monday because my lower back was a bit stiff. Why cant I get rid of this? It keeps packing in on the hills.
